The Terms of Service (the “Terms”) together with the policies incorporated into them, including the Sweepstakes Rules where applicable, govern the relevant account and service requirements we apply to this question. Check the current terms before acting because eligibility, payment, promotion, and account rules can change.
Who is eligible to play and redeem on McLuck?
The Terms require you to be over 21, or the minimum legal age of majority where you are located if that age is higher, and to be legally allowed to participate under the laws that apply to you. You are also responsible for making sure that nobody under 21 can reach the Service through your account. Eligibility follows where you are physically located when you access the Service, and confirming that you have the legal right to use it is your own responsibility rather than something we can advise on.
McLuck does not offer the Service in the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Washington and West Virginia. Any jurisdiction outside the United States is also a Prohibited Territory. Promotional contests are separately unavailable in California, which is a narrower restriction rather than a full exclusion from the Service. Individual game suppliers can restrict their own games in further states, published in the Game Supplier Additional Restrictions list.
Some users are excluded regardless of age or location:
- employees and officers of the company operating McLuck.com (the “Company”), and their household members and relatives;
- employees, contractors and operators of another social gaming site;
- anyone on a U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Participation must also be in your personal capacity, for recreation and entertainment only.
Account rules that affect your eligibility
Eligibility is personal, so the account has to belong to you and reflect you accurately:
Before you get started
- One account per person. Opening or attempting to open more than one Customer Account can result in all of them being terminated or suspended, and Virtual Coin balances voided.
- Recover rather than re-register. If you lose access, contact Customer Support to recover the existing account instead of creating a new one.
- Name matching. The name you provide at registration must match the name on your government-issued identification, and you must keep your personal details up to date.
- No sharing or transfer. Do not share your account or password, and do not sell, rent or transfer an account, or use one obtained from someone else.
- Accurate information. Everything you supply must be complete and accurate. Knowingly submitting inaccurate details may result in immediate termination of the account.
- Genuine location. Do not use a VPN, proxy or similar technology to conceal your location, and keep Location Services enabled on your device, which is required to use the Service.
- Independent play. Do not use bots or other software-assisted methods, and do not play in a coordinated group, club or syndicate.
Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins are not the same
Gold Coins (GC) are the virtual coins used for standard social gameplay. They may be provided free or purchased where legally permitted, and no purchase is ever required to open an account or play. Gold Coins are non-transferable, non-redeemable and carry no monetary value, and any balance is forfeited if the account is closed, terminated or suspended.
Sweepstakes Coins (SC) work differently. They also hold no real monetary value, and they exist to let you play for a chance to win further Sweepstakes Coins. SC won through gameplay may be eligible for redemption as cash prizes or gift card prizes, subject to the Sweepstakes Rules and to approval by McLuck. Approval depends on completing all verifications and complying with the Sweepstakes Rules and the Terms, so a balance alone does not make a redemption eligible.
For a fuller comparison, including how each type is obtained, see our guide to the difference between Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins.
What are the rules for McLuck prize redemption?
The Sweepstakes Rules set the thresholds and conditions that apply to every prize request:
- Sweepstakes Coins must be used at least once in an applicable Sweepstakes Game before they count toward a request.
- A cash prize requires at least 75 qualifying Sweepstakes Coins; a gift card prize requires at least 10.
- Each qualifying Sweepstakes Coins you redeem corresponds to $1.00 USD in prize value.
- The name on the method you use must match the name on your Customer Account, and redemptions are authorized only to a bank account held in your name.
- Age, identity and all other required checks, including source of funds and wealth, must be complete beforehand.
- Prize redemptions may be limited to $10,000 per day at McLuck’s sole discretion. For Florida residents, prize redemptions are limited to $5,000 per day.
A redemption may take up to 10 days to process. Meeting the thresholds is only part of it: the redemption request also has to satisfy the ownership and verification conditions before it can be approved.
A submitted redemption request showing as pending is still in review rather than declined.
What happens before a prize request is approved?
Open the signed-in redemption flow and choose from the methods displayed for your account. The flow may require identity, age, address, payment-ownership or destination verification. Complete every requested task and make sure the legal name and other account details match. A method shown to another customer may not be available for your location or account. A submitted request can move through verification, McLuck review, approval and delivery by a receiving institution or gift-card provider. A pending status does not mean the prize has been approved.
Check the account status and registered email for a request. Do not submit duplicate requests or change details repeatedly while a review is active unless Customer Support instructs you to do so. McLuck may restrict or terminate an account and withhold or revoke associated prize winnings when eligibility requirements are not met, subject to its Terms. Incomplete, mismatched or inaccurate information can delay or prevent approval. Never alter a document or use someone else’s account or destination to avoid a check.
What happens if the eligibility requirements are not met?
If we determine that the eligibility requirements are not met, the Terms allow us to terminate the Customer Account, restrict participation in the Service, and withhold or revoke any prize winnings associated with the account. Revoked prizes may be retained to support fraud prevention and to comply with anti-money-laundering law. Multiple accounts carry their own consequence: only one Customer Account is permitted per person, and where multiple accounts are opened or attempted, the accounts may be terminated or suspended and Virtual Coin balances may be voided. Where multiple accounts are used in connection with promotion, associated promotional benefits may also be withheld, voided or forfeited.
Attempts to circumvent eligibility or verification requirements – for example, by using a VPN or proxy to disguise your location, creating duplicate accounts, or providing inaccurate information – may result in restriction or other action under the Terms. If you are unable to complete a check, contact Customer Support to confirm what information or verification is required.
Promotions can add their own conditions
Promotions, contests and special offers are subject to the Terms, to the official rules of that promotion, and to any additional terms published at the time.
How do I resolve an eligibility or redemption error?
Contact Customer Support by submitting a request in our Help Center. Choose the option that best matches your issue from the dropdown menu, such as an account-related or redemption query. Add a clear subject and describe what happened, including your registered email address, any error message and relevant dates or reference numbers. You can also attach a screenshot to help explain the issue.
Keep follow-ups in the same request so Support can track the details. Customer Support can explain your account status and any action needed from you, but cannot override age, location, game provider, identity or legal restrictions.
