The Terms of Service, together with the policies incorporated into them, including the Sweepstakes Rules where applicable, govern the relevant account and service requirements we apply to this question. Check the current terms before acting because eligibility, payment, promotion, and account rules can change.

Why can a redemption remain pending?

A redemption may remain pending while McLuck completes the checks and processing required under the Sweepstakes Rules. Depending on the stage of your request, this may include eligibility verification, redemption processing, or payment method validation. A pending status does not necessarily indicate a problem or mean that your redemption has been rejected.

Eligibility review

A pending redemption can cover several review stages. McLuck may be validating qualifying Sweepstakes Coins (SC) and the potential winning play, reviewing your age, identity, location, address, source of funds, or confirming that the selected bank account or other payment destination belongs to the verified customer. A document request may also be awaiting customer action or review after submission. Our Sweepstakes eligibility and redemption rules FAQ set out which coins and plays can qualify in the first place.

Payment method validation

Once McLuck has initiated the redemption process, the payment provider may reject or return the selected payment method. This may occur because of incorrect payment details, a closed or unsupported account, a name mismatch, wallet restrictions, card limitations, or bank requirements. The Sweepstakes Rules also permit McLuck to issue a prize by check or another payment method where appropriate. Wait for official instructions before updating or replacing your payment details.

Common pending redemption stages

Your redemption request may move through one or more of the stages below before it is completed. The table explains what each stage means, what to check, and the most appropriate next step.

Pending stageWhat to checkRecommended next step
Eligibility reviewQualifying Sweepstakes Coins (SC), one-play requirement, cash or gift-card minimum, location, and any required eligibility or account verification.Wait for the review to be completed or provide only the eligibility information requested through McLuck’s secure process.
Identity or account verificationGovernment ID, address, biometric, SSN, account details, and current task status where applicable.Complete any official verification requests and monitor your registered email for updates.
Payment or funds reviewPayment method ownership, redacted proof of ownership, source-of-funds or wealth request.Submit the requested documents using the approved secure upload process.
Destination validationBank account ownership, joint account evidence, wallet or card compatibility, and the payment details provided.Correct any inaccurate payment details or select another available payment method only after receiving official instructions.
McLuck processingSubmission date, redemption reference, processing time (up to 10 days), redemption amount, status, and any applicable processing fees.Leave the redemption request unchanged and contact Customer Support if you need clarification on the current processing stage.
Large-redemption or installment reviewWhether the redemption came in instalments, and what has already been received.Track each instalment using the original redemption reference and ask Customer Support about any remaining balance if needed.
Returned or failed deliveryPayment release date, provider return message, last four digits of the payment destination, and current account status.Ask whether corrected details, a replacement method, or more verification is required.

One further requirement applies before a request can proceed at all. Sweepstakes Coins must be used at least once in an applicable Sweepstakes Game before they count toward a redemption request, so coins you have only just collected do not yet qualify.

Where a reason involves a document or a detail on your side, the request stays in review until it is resolved. Where it does not, the request continues without any action from you.

How to clear outstanding verification

Account verification is mandatory and must be completed before you can request or process a redemption. Once signed in to your McLuck Customer Account, you can submit the required documents through the “My Profile” page on the side menu as follows:

Step 1: Identity

  • Submit a clear, real-time photograph of an unexpired, government-issued photo ID.
  • Passport: the photo page must be fully visible.
  • Driver’s license, or State or National ID card: both front and back.
  • The document must show your full legal name, date of birth, document number and expiration date.

Step 2: Proof of address

  • Submit a document issued in your name within the last 90 days.
  • Utility invoices: gas, electricity, water or waste.
  • Other bills: landline, internet or mobile phone statements.
  • Financial documents: official bank or credit card statements.
  • It must show your name as it appears on your ID, your address as registered on your profile, and the issue date.

Before you upload

Digital screenshots are not accepted, and images must be well lit, complete and legible. Files are evaluated within 48 hours of submission. If an upload has already come back rejected, the article on why a document upload is rejected sets out the specific causes.

Why a second redemption request or chargeback can affect your redemption

If your redemption is taking longer than expected, submitting another request will not speed it up. If you’d like an update, contact Customer Support with your original reference number so they can follow up.

A chargeback has wider consequences. If one or more Gold Coin purchases on your account are subject to a chargeback, all pending redemptions will be canceled and no further prize redemptions will be allowed. Your Customer Account may also be suspended or terminated, at McLuck’s sole discretion. If you have a concern about a purchase, contact Customer Support so they can review it and explain the next steps.

What should you check before contacting Customer Support?

Before contacting Customer Support, review your redemption request in your signed-in account and note its current status, amount, payment method, reference number, submission date, and most recent update. Check your registered email, spam folder, and any verification dashboard for outstanding requests. Confirm whether any requested document, selfie, proof of payment ownership, source-of-funds information, payment destination correction, or any other requested document is still incomplete.

Review the applicable processing timeframe. A prize redemption may take up to 10 days to process. Banks, wallets, card issuers, and gift card providers may also have separate processing or delivery times. If McLuck shows the redemption as released, check with the receiving provider for any pending or returned payment information. If the redemption is still under review, note the current stage before contacting Support.

What not to do

Do not change accurate identity information, upload altered documents, use another person’s payment method, create a second Customer Account, or respond to unsolicited requests for a “release fee.” If you receive an unexpected payment request, verify it directly with official Customer Support.

What can Customer Support confirm?

Customer Support can confirm whether your redemption is awaiting customer action, eligibility or identity review, payment processing, installment processing, payment destination correction, or a returned payment response. They can also confirm whether submitted documents have been received and explain the next required step.

Customer Support cannot bypass legal, eligibility, ownership, security, fraud, or payment provider requirements, or guarantee a payment date while a redemption remains pending. Keep all communication within the same support ticket so your redemption history, documents, payment updates, and responses remain linked to the same reference.

How to contact Customer Support about a pending redemption

When submitting a request, include enough information for Customer Support to identify your redemption quickly:

  • Provide the registered email, redemption reference, qualifying SC selected, prize amount, method, and submission date.
  • Quote the current status and exact message and state when it last changed.
  • List completed verification or ownership tasks and identify any task still shown as open.
  • For larger redemptions, list installments received and the amount still expected under the reference.
  • For a destination issue, include the provider or bank name, account type, and last four digits only.

Ask which stage your redemption is currently in and whether the next action is required from you, McLuck, or the receiving payment provider.

If no further action is required from you, leave your redemption request unchanged and continue monitoring the same reference rather than submitting a new redemption request.
