Pragmatic Play is responsible for many of the best online slot games around, and with The Dog House series of slots they have struck gold once again.
Best Return to Player
The Return to Player – RTP – of a slot game is always something that every player should be aware of. This RTP shows the percentage return to a player over a long period of time, and those games with a higher return to player offer a better chance of long-term success. When it comes to Pragmatic’s The Dog House series, there is not a great difference between the various slots, but the Megaways title does take the top spot on this list, as you can see below:
Name | RTP |
The Dog House Megaways | 96.55% |
The Dog House Dog or Alive | 96.52% |
The Dog House Dice Show | 96.51% |
The Dog House | 96.51% |
The Dog House Multihold | 96.06% |
Biggest Maximum Wins
Another important feature to pay attention to is the maximum prize possible per spin of the reels. This can vary wildly from one game to the next and is a feature which is often overlooked by slot players. Bear in mind that the figures shown below are multiples of the spin amount selected by the player. Also note that Jackpot Play editions of games are not included, as the progressive jackpot prizes can be much higher than any of the max rewards listed below. Based on the standard editions of the games The Dog House Megaways clearly beats out the competition, with Dog or Alive taking second spot in our list:
Name | RTP |
The Dog House Megaways | 12,000x |
The Dog House Dog or Alive | 10,000x |
The Dog House Multihold | 9,000x |
The Dog House | 6,750x |
The Dog House Dice Show | 6,750x |

1. The Dog House Megaways
Our choice for the top spot is pretty clear: The Dog House Megaways has the highest RTP, the largest potential win amount, multipliers and a ‘buy the feature’ option, and of course that Megaways mechanism that slot players have come to love. The doggy characters and brightly-colored suburban background are familiar from previous versions of the game, as is the upbeat soundtrack.
This Megaways slot offers up to 117,649 ways to win on every spin, and the free spin bonus round is unlocked by finding 3 or more scatters. Three scatters gives 7 spins, while if you find 6 you earn 20 free spins and a better chance of hitting a big win!

2. The Dog House Dog or Alive
The Dog House: Dog or Alive adds an element of Wild West imagery to the series. Unlock the free spin bonus round by finding three scatter symbols, and you are taken to a new screen where you can earn from 9 to 27 spins. And if you don’t have the patience to wait for those scatters to show up, there is the option to ‘Play the Feature’ by using some of your coins to take a shortcut.
The maximum win available here is a very respectable 10,000x your spin, making this cowboy-themed slot a rewarding one. Saddle up and see if you can claim yourself a ransom-sized reward!

3. The Dog House Multihold
The Dog House Multihold adds an interesting extra feature to the game with a multi-screen bonus round. Find three paw-shaped bonus symbols in the main game and you are taken to a new split-screen. The action plays out on the top-left of the screen, and if you find another three scatters at any time over your 7 spins you unlock a new set of reels, plus between 1 and 3 extra spins.
There is also a sticky wild multiplier feature in the bonus round, where any wild which appears on the most recently opened screen stays in place for the duration of the spins. If you manage to open all four screens then you should reap the rewards!

4. The Dog House Dice Show
The appearance of this variation of the slot is a little different to most of the others. The designers seem to have decided to stick some dice in front of the regular symbols we are used to seeing, which doesn’t really work very well visually. Apart from the fact that the dice block out the regular characters, some of the symbols on the dice look a little similar which can take a while to get used to.
Besides that complaint, there are plenty of things to enjoy about this game. Like Dog or Alive and the original Dog House there are up to 27 free spins on offer, which is a great incentive. Plus the wild multiplier symbols make a welcome appearance and help those winnings to add up.
R.T.P. | 96.51% |
Max Win | 6,750x |
Volatility | Very High |
Wild Multipliers | Yes |
Free Spins | 9 to 27 |
Retrigger Free Spins | No |
Play the Feature | No |
5. The Dog House
Fifth place in our list goes to the game that spawned the entire series of Dog House slots. The original of the species shares a lot of the DNA of its successors, of course, but without having as many features as some of the games that would come along after it.
Like all the games in this series, this is a high-variance slot, meaning that patience is required in order to land the bonus free spins and the possibility of big prizes. While this game is less feature-rich than the others in the series, it is still a fun slot with the potential to nab a lot of free spins and a decent return to player.
R.T.P. | 96.51% |
Max Win | 6,750x |
Volatility | Very High |
Wild Multipliers | Yes |
Free Spins | 9 to 27 |
Retrigger Free Spins | No |
Play the Feature | No |
